Cocker Rescue is primarily for Show Type Cockers, and to assist owners who have suffered illness or the family if the owner has sadly died.
We prefer to offer a home-to-home procedure to reduce the stress on the dog, and we put prospective owners in touch with the present owners.
If there are urgent circumstances the dog can be taken in by either rescue officer.
Unfortunately, this service is NOT for aggression issues or dogs no longer required.
This is a voluntary service with little funding but both rescue officers are willing to help with any advice if required.

Shaun’s Story
Shaun came into Scottish Cocker rescue at Catherine Mason’s kennel in 1998, then aged 10 – sadly, his owner had a massive heart attack and although recovered, was forced into sheltered housing where no pets were allowed.
Due to Shaun’s age, he proved difficult to re-home, therefore he remained with Catherine until he passed away in the spring of 2003 at the age of 15 years.
Stories like Shaun’s, are the main reason why Cocker Rescue was formed.
